Cryotherapy
Local cryotherapy
Cryogenic - extremely low - temperatures such as those observed in gas liquefaction and boiling found their application in biology and medicine. The term cryotherapy or cryosurgery describes intentional destruction of tissues by freezing. Reduced temperature causes the distortion of dynamic balance between cell and environment. Cryotherapy - applying a steam of cold air - was introduced as an effective method of treatment rheumatic diseases. This method has analgesic and anti-inflammatory role which eventually improves rehabilitation. Extremely low temperatures cause a number of favourable reactions which improve to a great extend the effectiveness of the rehabilitation conducted directly after the procedure.
